As Greenland’s second-largest town and home to the country’s leading technical institutions, Sisimiut is a dynamic centre where science, entrepreneurship, local culture and traditions meet.
Under the Greenland Science Week theme “All Eyes on Greenland”, this year’s local program explores how innovation and research can support Sisimiut’s strong spirit of enterprise and help shape Greenland’s future — sustainably and creatively. ​

Join us to hear the latest updates and share your input on how the site can grow as a meaningful and sustainable destination.

Sarfannguit
Visit Sarfannguit - experience traditional life in the village, where nature sets the pace.
Under the Greenland Science Week theme “All eyes on Greenland” we invite you to experience the Aasivissuit–Nipisat World Heritage area through the lens of Sarfannguit – a small village rich culture, history and deep connection to nature.
This unique day focuses on how science and heritage can support sustainable development in a community where the rhythm of life follows the seas.

We sail from Sisimiut into Aasivissuit – Nipisat World Heritage area ending in heritage village of Sarfannguit.

Discover Kangerlussuaq – where Climate, Culture and Science meet.

Under the Greenland Science Week theme “All eyes on Greenland” we turn our focus to Kangerlussuaq – a place in transition. Once Greenland´s main air gateway and a central hub for Arctic research, Kangerlussuaq is now reimagining itself as a center for science tourism and cultural heritage.
Join us at the edge of the Ice Sheep to explore how researchers, the World Heritage site Aasivissuit – Nipisat, and the local community can shape its future.
