We describe a project for monitoring solar flares via radio waves.

Listen to the aurorae, and detect solar flares with radio waves!
Listen to the aurorae, and detect solar flares with radio waves!

Time and location

Nov 10, 2023, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Ilisimatusarfik, room 2+3, Manutooq 1, 3905, Nuuk 3905, Greenland

About the event

As the 11-year solar cycle peaks, we'll focus on how solar flares impact the magnetosphere and cause aurorae, central to Greenland's folklore. The project is suitable for high-school and undergraduate students. Reception of low frequency radio waves allow us to listen to aurorae and other phenomena occuring in our ionosphere.
